Reward Points Information

Like getting free stuff? Well, every time you make a purchase at Tidewater Games, you earn Reward Points which set you on your way to earning free games, accessories, and more (must have created a free account)! Read on for more information about how to earn and redeem reward points with TWG.
  • How do I earn reward points with TWG?
    It's so simple anyone can do it! All you have to do is create a free account here on our website and then make a purchase on the site, over the phone, or by mail. Once your order has been processed you will receive the points indicated for the product you ordered. You can see how many points an item is worth on the item's page right below the price.
  • Sounds good, but what if I want to earn more points. Can I do that?
    You bet! All you have to do is head over to our Tide Breaker Memberships section and become a Tide Breaker Member. Memberships are available in 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 2 year, 3 year, 4 year, and 5 year increments. Prices range from $9.99/month to $179.99/5 years (~$2.99/month), depending on your membership length. Once your account has been upgraded to be a Tide Breaker Member, you'll start getting bonus points based on your membership level starting with your very next purchase.

    Already a Tide Breaker? Awesome! That means you already get bonus points on every purchase in addition to all the other sweet benefits available exclusively for members.

    You can also earn additional points by finding hidden gaming icons throughout our website. Simply contact us with the link where you found the icon and if you are correct, we will give you free points (each find is worth 0.10 points [about $0.10]) just for being awesome! These free points may only be earned once per icon per account. You must have a valid account with us in order to earn points for finding hidden icons.
  • Okay, cool, so how do these reward points work anyways?
    Once you've earned some reward points, they will be added to your account as sort of a virtual currency. For example, if you had purchased a product that gave 10 points, you would then be able to use any or all of those 10 points on your next order. If your order costs 10 points or less, it would basically be free (less any applicable shipping charges). If your order costs more than 10 points, you'll be able to redeem your points and use them as a discount on that order.
  • Neat, now I want to redeem my points. How do I do that?
    In order to redeem your points and use them for an order, you will need to click on your shopping cart. Once you're there you can use some or all of your points available, up to the reward points price of the item(s) in your cart. This will show up on your order as a discount off the subtotal.
  • Do I get points for paying sales tax, shipping, or other fees?
    Unfortunately no, reward points are earned only from purchasing products or services (cleaning, repairs, etc.).
  • What if I return some or all of my order? Do I get to keep my points from that order?
    Unfortunately no, your reward points balance will be adjusted downward to reflect your return. So for example, if you purchased products that gave you 20 points and you later returned products that were worth 10 points, your points balance will now be lowered by 10 points.
  • How long do I have to use my reward points? Do they ever expire?
    Nope! Your reward points are attached to your account, so as long as you choose to keep an account with us, they will never expire.
  • Can I give/send/trade my points to someone else?
    Sadly, no. :( Unfortunately all points are non-transferrable. Points earned are for your account and your account only. Reward points may not be redeemed for cash and may only be used to purchase products and services sold/offered by TWG.
  • I purchased an item for "free" using my reward points. Can I return it/get a refund?
    It depends. If you are returning an item purchased with reward points, you are responsible for paying return shipping charges. TWG will not reimburse you for these charges unless your item was broken, damaged, or defective when it was originally received. Please see our Returns page for more info and to determine what is and is not eligible to be returned.
